SPARKASSE KOELNBONN BONN 2014 — The Sparkasse bank building draws its urban character from its surroundings: Individual building sections are put together to form a large whole, in harmony with the scale of the surroundings. The edge of the old bastion is continued, and the necessary staggering and terracing along Florentiusgraben create an adequate counterpart to the existing development of the area. The low base section brings everything together, its terraces drawing the surrounding open space right into the building.
