BOULEVARD BERLIN 2012 — The Schloßstraße in Berlin Steglitz is one of the most important shopping streets in Berlin. By adapting and merging the Wertheim and Karstadt areas, a new type of shopping centre has been created here: The Boulevard Berlin sees itself as a small new city quarter. Located at the centre of Schloßstraße, it is made up of different buildings, strongly suggesting public space with its small streets and squares. The largest building block is the Karstadt department store, a traditional type of shopping centre.
