LIVING ISAR RESIDENTIAL QUARTER // Completed - 21.11.2022

A densely populated urban residential area has emerged at the former Osram factory grounds in Munich’s Giesing neighbourhood, with 17 buildings providing new homes for more than 1,000 people. The polygonal structures are placed on raised fields that are modelled after the furrows of the nearby park along the Isar River. Their basic shape gives all that buildings and apartments a connection to the large central greenspace that directly adjoins the Isar floodplains.

The concept for the project was created for a 2015 competition. Construction of the Living Isar Residential Quarter was completed in 2022.
