BAUKUNSTARCHIV NRW // SPHINX – 10 Regeln zur Baukunst - 11.05.2023

Sphinx. This is the name of the small building in which the 10 Rules of Architecture are exhibited. Say S-P-H-I-N-X out loud, softly. It starts with the hiss of a warning and ends with a hard crack. Somehow a succinct characterisation of the situation we are currently in. The answers we find for this are puzzling indeed. According to legend, the Sphinx was wont to strangle passing travellers unable to solve the riddle.
The 10 Rules of Architecture can be understood as gentle instructions on how to proceed more carefully with the shaping of our living space. A significant proportion of all ecological measures lies in aesthetic compatibility. O&O Baukunst shows examples and thoughts on this from its own oeuvre.
